Welcome to the Town of Chestermere "Loop Around the Lake Run" with proceeds benefitting the Chestermere Public Library. This year a 1/2 Marathon Distance (21K) (8 am start)will be held in addition to the original 11.2 km and 5km runs (8:30 start). A children’s 1km run will again be part of the 2012 Loop Around the Lake, starting at 10:00 AM. All runners have timing chips (race results will be available online at www.racepro.ca) and the top three finishers in each age category will be presented with a medal. Results for the event can be found here. The run will be 3 distances 1/2 marathon (22K) twice around a Registration will open January 15st 2012, and will close on September 11th 2012. A registration fee of $50.00 will help support the cost of putting on this event. Finishers t-shirts, with a customized logo, will be included in the cost of entry. 100% of any profits will be awarded to the Public Library. With long term goals of raising over $100,000 for the Library over the next ten years, this is hoped to be a successful, annual event.
